2nd CásterAntiqua – Ovar Early Music Festival
From 27 February to 8 March, the city of Ovar will host the second edition of the CásterAntiqua – Ovar Early Music Festival. Once again, we will travel through the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries with a musical programme that brings together national artists and groups, such as the Musurgia Ensemble and MedEnsemble, as well as international artists and groups, including William Carter (UK), the New Collegium (NL) and the Ensemble Alletamento (ES), in venues that are characteristic of the local heritage. There will also be an artistic residency by an emerging group selected through an international competition, giving visibility to young talents at the beginning of their careers. Our community-oriented activities will also be back, including the CásterAntiqua Choir, audience formation and guided tours of heritage sites.
Join us in celebrating early music!
